My previous post mentioned that Nevaeh Buchanan’s mother and her boyfriend were arrested for the child’s abduction and murder.  Based on the event horoscope of the abduction this is not surprising news.  First I have to clarify that I am not accusing anyone of any activity in the crimes that I write about; I am just interpreting the information in the horoscope and my analyses are not always perfect.  This is for information and for those wishing to learn more about forensic astrology.

In the chart cast for 9:20 pm of May 24, 2009 in Monroe, MI, the perpetrator is shown as 9 Gemini Descendant, ruled by Mercury which is in Taurus, retrograde, in the 6th house.  A few things jump out at me regarding this person:

Disappearance of Nevaeh Buchanan

Disappearance of Nevaeh Buchanan

A retrograde significator in horary astrology indicates something that may be found, or returned.  I believe this person will be found.  The boyfriend of the mother of the victim, and the mother, have been arrested for Nevaeh’s murder.  I am not accusing them of the crime.  I do note that the Moon, which rules the mother, is conjunct the Descendant.  The Moon in Gemini is in mutual reception with Mercury.  This may indicate that the mother knew the perpetrator of the crime, and it may also show that they cared for each other.  Planets in mutual reception “like” each other; they are in each other’s sign, showing an affinity.

Nevaeh’s mother’s significator is also Mercury, because it rules the 10th house of mothers. This reinforces the bond between the mother and her boyfriend.  Before the arrest the boyfriend was considered a person of interest, but Mrs. Buchanan strongly defended the boyfriend and in fact appeared to show more concern for the boyfriend than for her missing daughter.

What else does this horoscope show me about the mother?  Her ruler, Moon, is squared by Saturn.  The responsibilities of motherhood bore heavily on her.  Her sign, Gemini, is the sign in which Nevaeh’s planet, Jupiter, is in its Fall.  The mother-daughter relationship was not ideal.  The mother’s significator is clearly more favorable to the boyfriend than to little Nevaeh.

While I am neither accusing the mother or her boyfriend, I did mention in my first post about this crime that there was a curious time gap from when Nevaeh was last seen, to when the police were called.  The mother’s reaction to the daughter’s disappearance was also curious.

UPDATE:   I had not researched this case since getting news of the mother and boyfriend being taken into custody.   A reader of this blog informed me that the mother and boyfriend were not charged with the crime.   To date there have been no arrests.

Forensic astrology: the sad disappearance of Nevaeh Buchanan August 29, 2009

What do the stars say about the disappearance of Nevaeh Buchanan?  I cast my chart for the moment that the police were notified by Nevaeh’s mother:  9:20 pm on May 24, 2009, in Monroe, Michigan.  Keep in mind that little Nevaeh was reportedly last seen at 6:30 pm, leaving a curious hour and 50 minute gap between this and the time the police were finally called …

This is an event chart so Nevaeh is represented by the Ascendant, 9 Sagittarius, and its ruler Jupiter at 26 Aquarius in the third house, sandwiched exactly between Chiron and Neptune which are also 26 Aquarius.

Two things bother me already about Nevaeh’s fate:  the Ascendant which represents her is exactly conjunct the malefic fixed star Antares, which rules violence, tragedy and in certain circumstances, blindness and injury to the head.  I am also unhappy that the Part of Fortune, which casts light on the outcome of a matter, is at 1 Sagittarius in the unfortunate 12th house, exactly opposite the Sun at 3 Gemini in the sixth house.

12th house placements in charts of missing children promise suffering and/or secrecy of some kind if main significators like the Part of Fortune are there.  The Sun, natural ruler of the fifth house of children, is badly placed in Gemini in the 6th and it opposes the 12th house Part of Fortune.  Uranus, a co-ruler of Jupiter, applies to conjunction with the 4th house of endings.   Jupiter is superconjunct Neptune in the third.  Nevaeh just disappeared from her neighborhood under very suspicious, and deceptive, circumstances.  This is a very poor testimony for a missing child and Nevaeh’s prospects of surviving the kidnapping are bleak.

Several days after I cast this chart I was saddened to learn that Nevaeh’s dead body had been located in a field.  She had been partially buried and covered by a concrete slab.  In the weeks following, her mother and the mother’s boyfriend were arrested and both have been charged with her murder.

A sad irony in this case is that the mother had named her daughter Nevaeh because it is “Heaven” spelled backward.  That is where Nevaeh is resting now, while the mother’s fate appears much less promising.

Why was the arrest of the mother and boyfriend not a surprise, according to this unfortunate chart?  Read my next blog to find out.
